Community Family Day - Strong Families Create Strong Communities!
Community Family Day - Illinois Youth & Family Services, Joliet IL
Our Community Family Day was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together with purpose. The energy in the room was undeniable. The community truly showed up and showed out, wrapping their arms around our mission and pouring into the success of our young girls. From start to finish, the day was filled with encouragement, connection, and a shared commitment to uplifting the next generation.
We were honored to host the event at Illinois Youth & Family Center Services, where three dynamic speakers poured into our community by focusing on three of our seven core initiatives: the mind (Latreavette McCline), the body (Nate and Erika McCullum), and self-care (Tana Gilmore). Each speaker brought insight, inspiration, and practical tools that our community can carry with them as they continue to thrive. The experience was not only impactful but also engaging and empowering for everyone in attendance.
To top it all off, attendees enjoyed delicious food provided by Juicy Jubilee, Derrick and Angie Kemp, Niko’s Catering, and Richardson’s, adding an extra layer of warmth and fellowship to the day. A highlight of the event was recognizing our Karen McElrath Legacy Award recipient, Rihanna Hudson, whose dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence truly set her apart. Community Family Day was more than just an event, it was a celebration of impact, unity, and the bright future ahead.
